They are barcodes that can be generated from any URL and once you have a QR Code App on your phone/ipod touch you can just scan the barcode from your phone and it will take you directly to the site. The App I put on my Droid even links the site accessed with Evernote. Here’s a Youtube video that shows the basics of how it works:

Hi Ellen,
How’s everything? Hope that you had a good holiday!
I’ve been playing around with QR Codes and was thinking about using them with a class, and was wondering if you’d used them at all with your students? My plan was to offer them as an additional point of access on a research guide along with traditional URLS. I’m trying to foresee any potential issues, and because you’re always trying new things I thought you might have taken a look at them.
